Length: 6 minutes The McKeever Environmental Learning Center, nestled in a wooded
area 75 miles north of Pittsburgh, has been educating the public
about the environment for 25 years. With over 200 acres and 4.5
miles of trails, the Center has had a great impact-over 5,000 students
and 900 teachers use its facilities throughout the year. Hear firsthand
how valuable the Center's programs have been. This video offers
a brief glimpse of environmental education's significance as technology
continues to widen the gap between students and nature. Get Involved: Programs stressing ecological awareness are held daily at McKeever. Brief day activities and a host of residential environmental education programs are offered for grades K-12. With lodging for 150 people, auditorium, dining hall, indoor/outdoor classrooms, conference room, library and outdoor amphitheater, McKeever is also an excellent facility for conferences, retreats, workshops or training seminars.
