Part One - Length: 80 minutes
The primary focus of the webcast's first segment is residential
recycling educational programs at the local goverment level. Join
moderator Carl Hursh, the Chief of Recycling and Markets at the
Pennsylvania Department of Enivronmental Protection as he talks
with recycling professionals who have implemented successful recycling
educational programs in their communities.
Lori Robson of the Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority discusses
what educational techniques work for a rural recycling program.
Nancy Fromnick explains the highlights of Chester County's educational
program. Gene Hejmanowski shares his experiences with the successful
education program in the suburban setting of Penn Township, York
County. Ann Saurman discusses the City of Allentown's varied approaches
to recycling education.
Part Two - Length 80 minutes
The second segment involves presentations and discussions by a
panel of experts with experience with recycling programs in commercial
and institutional settings. Ed Barr from Philadelphia's Thomas Jefferson
University Hospital talks about establishing an education program
in an institution and how businesses and government can work together
to improve recycling programs. The City of Erie's Recycling Coordinator,
Sid Goldstein, discusses effective educational programs in multi-family
apartment settings
