Overview of installation
To install the RealPlayer 7 Basic player on your computer, you will launch, or run, the setup/installation file that you downloaded at Step 1. The RealPlayer setup program will provide step-by-step directions for installing the RealPlayer files and setting up the player to run on your computer.

The installation process may take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The exact time will vary with the user.

The following steps tell you how to install RealPlayer 7 Basic on your computer, using the previously downloaded setup/installation file.

Note: During the RealPlayer installation process, it is necessary for your browser program to be closed and then reopened. To make sure you can return to these instructions, we recommend that you bookmark this GreenWorks.tv web page before you start to install. You may also find it useful to print out this page before you start.

1. (Optional) Bookmark and/or print out this GreenWorks.tv web page.
2. Launch (or run) the RealPlayer setup/installation file that you downloaded. The file name will have an extension of exe. You will first see a small window that says, "Preparing to install RealPlayer 7 Basic". Then you will see the installation welcome screen, as shown below.

3. Click on the Next button to proceed. Follow the step-by-step instructions on your screen to complete the installation process.

Note: If your browser is open, the setup/installation program will close and later reopen it. Toward the end of installation, the RealPlayer will be opened automatically and your computer will be connected to the internet. Once you are connected, your browser will load the channel guide page at real.com and your RealPlayer will play a welcome message and display links to tutorials on RealPlayer. If you wish, you can choose to cancel the internet connection. The RealPlayer will be left open for you, at the end of the installation process.

4. To verify that your connection settings are correct in RealPlayer, click on the View dropdown menu and select Preferences. Click on the Connection tab to select it. Make sure that the Normal bandwidth field shows the correct speed for your internet connection.
