The riders continued on to Kansas, where they enjoyed relief from the mountains of Colorado. They met the owners of a bike shop in Wichita, and enjoyed the history of the state.

There they met up with a local couple who opened their home to them, bought them dessert and breakfast, and let them use their showers and laundry room to clean up and their basement to sleep in.
