In Syracuse, Kansas, the riders met up with a local church Pastor, who allowed them to stay in their church and the people at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas, who opened up a meeting room for them to stay in.

It was in Kansas that the riders achieved a major goal for the first time- they rode 101 miles in one day, their first "century"!
