ENVIRONMENTAL FUND FOR PENNSYLVANIA TO
RECEIVE COMMUNICATION AWARD FROM PRESERVATION PENNSYLVANIA
HARRISBURG (April 5, 2000) - The Environmental Fund for
Pennsylvania (EFP) will be presented a Communication Award
by Preservation Pennsylvania in partnership with the Pennsylvania
Historical and Museum Commission on April 12, 2000.
The award is given in recognition of exceptional quality
preservation publications or outstanding media coverage of
a local, regional or state preservation issue.
EFP was nominated for its GreenWorks for Pennsylvania monthly
television program that showcases people taking positive steps
to preserve and protect Pennsylvania's environment and historic
communities.
"GreenWorks is a show that says you can do it, and
then proceeds to show people how," said Timothy Schlitzer,
Executive Director of EFP.
Also nominated for the award was GreenWorks.tv, the first
video website dedicated to delivering video programs to web
users on how being green can work for them.
"GreenWorks.tv contains the largest selection of environmental
video programming available online," said Christine Milbank,
Coordinating Producer for GreenWorksChannel.org.
Two videos "Shaping Our Communities" and "Faces
of the Farm" were included with the nomination and deal
with the issue of urban sprawl.
A complimentary dinner will follow the presentation of the
handmade Mercer tile award which will be framed, mounted and
inscribed.
"We will accept the award with great honor," said
EFP Executive Director, Timothy Schlitzer.
