How long have you been fishing?
I've been fishing more than 25 years now, and fly-fishing for 15 years. I started the guide service in 1995, and it's been picking up ever since.

How is business?
Business is successful, by word of mouth mostly. We have more than a hundred trips a season, couples mostly, corporate trips, and even group tours. We teach people how to fly-fish and the importance of protecting the environment, so they can pass it on to their families and friends.

What motivated you to turn your passion for fishing into a viable business for yourself?
I had a lot of gear and needed a way to pay for it. Also, I wanted to provide a service for people who visit the state. (There are lots coming from NY). It's important to get people out to enjoy the river, and to learn about fly-fishing, .

Did someone influence you?
Mike Leventhal helped by telling me to contact the tourism bureau.

Why do you like catch and release?
It helps preserve the species, gives us fish to catch another day, and it's a good feeling to let the fish go.

How do you encourage your clients to catch and release?
A good thing we do for our customer is take a picture of them when they catch their fish. Then they can let the fish go, and have the picture to remember the fish by.

How is the river doing?
The Delaware River is getting a lot cleaner; we're getting some good hatches from it. The cleaner the water is, the better the quality of insects are, and the more fish there is to feed off the bugs.
