Very Good Water in Altoona

The City of Altoona, along with environmental engineering firm Gwin, Dobson and Foreman, won a 1999 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence for providing citizens with clean, safe drinking water. Altoona city water is cleaner than environmental standards require and is treated by innovative technologies that require the use of fewer chemicals than other methods of water treatment.
