This episode of the award winning GreenWorks for Pennsylvania TV
show examines how Pennsylvanians
are making their homes "green houses."

This episode features:

  • Students of the environmental club at Souderton High School in Montgomery County, who planned, financed, and built an environmentally friendly, energy efficient house that utilizes cutting edge technology blended with old-fashioned common sense;

  • Sun and Earth home cleaning products-non-toxic to people and the environment as well, with all-natural ingredients like citrus oil, coconut oil, and water;

  • The Philadelphia Energy Coordinating Agency's Energy Audit Program, which brings the energy experts to the home owner's doorstep to show them how they can improve energy efficiency in their household and eliminate potential hazards;

  • The Clean Water Fund's "Home Safe Home" program, which provides information on the easy ways that potentially toxic household cleaners can be replaced with safe alternatives that do just as good a job;

  • Backyard native plant and habitat programs run by the Pennsylvania Audubon Society, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the PA Game Commission and the Wildlife Network;

  • Farming in Philadelphia at the SeaChange Urban Horticulture Center, which teaches city neighborhood residents about gardening and organic farming while enabling them to stock their kitchens with fresh produce on a regular basis.

GreenWorks TV hosts Tom Sexton and Jaime Smith are "at home" this episode, spending the day at Tom's house with an occasional appearance by the mysterious "Wanda Watershed."
