The pioneering technology used at the incinerator of the Hamot Medical
Center releases exhaust that is actually cleaner than the general
air in the Erie area. The hospital is also committed to removing all
mercury from its premises. Hamot is a part of the P3ERIE partnership,
a group of businesses, government agencies, and organizations working
to decrease mercury in the Erie watershed. Produced by the
Environmental Fund for Pennsylvania as part of the GreenWorks for
Pennsylvania Television show entitled, Erie
and Its Environment.
