-
Six year-old Mary Zuzack, who suffers from asthma, as well
as Mary's family and doctor, who describe the daily impact of
air quality on the Zuzacks' lives;
-
Keystone AAA, PennDOT, and the PA Department of Environmental
Protection, all of which have teamed up to help motorists understand
the new vehicle emissions inspection program which will assist
Pennsylvania in attaining federal health-based air quality standards
for ground-level ozone,
-
The Kistler-O'Brien Fire Protection Company in Bethlehem, which
uses computer-simulated fires to train new firefighters rather
than having to create air pollution with real fires;
-
The Westinghouse Corporation, which participates in the Environmental
Protection Agency's Green Lights Program to reduce energy use
and electricity bills while keeping company facilities well-lit
and bright;
-
Norm Feldman, indoor air quality "guru" at the Clean
Air Council, who has taught hundreds of schools, businesses,
and individuals about keeping indoor air clean;
-
Home owners who have tested and protected their homes against
dangerous radon gas, with the help of the Pennsylvania Resources
Council and the PA DEP;
-
People who get to work via alternative transportation-including
bikes, van pools, and the South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation
Authority mass transit system-so that they are able to leave
their cars at home and reduce air pollution levels;
-
Pennsylvania Power & Light employees active in the company's
measures to cut sulfur dioxide, particulate and nitrogen oxide
emissions from its power plants.
