Towns Envision a Bright Future
Length: 3.5 minutes
Winber and its neighboring townships, all built on coal mining, have
hit hard times since the mines shut down. Now they're planning for
a bright future. With the help of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council
and other organizations, they are making a long-term plan that will
allow for economic growth at the same time that it preserves open
and natural areas. Development is important, but it has to be done
in a careful, planned way, to preserve what is good about our communities.
