Healthy, Fresh, Organic Milk
Length: 6 minutes
GreenWorks visited the Milky Way Dairy Farm, in Bradford
County and met with Kim Seeley who, shortly after becoming
a father, realized that the pesticides and herbicides used
on his farm could pose a danger to his family and, all people
who drank his milk. With the help of the Pennsylvania Association
for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA), the Seeley's stopped using
chemicals, and for 12 years they have produced milk that is
healthier and safer than conventional milk.
Many of the chemicals commonly used to produce our food are
unnecessary. Through innovative techniques, and with the help
of organizations like PASA, farmers can produce healthier,
better tasting food, for a healthier Pennsylvania.
Produced (1999) by the Environmental
Fund for Pennsylvania for the GreenWorks for Pennsylvania
Television program entitled, Think
Globally, Eat Locally. Watch the entire episode here!
