AMD&ART

he Grand Opening of the Vintondale AMD&ART Park held October 26, 2001 at the Hungarian Reform Church, the site of the park's future education center, was a celebration of over 5 years of tireless effort in the tireless battle against acid mine drainage. This event drew over 50 participants, many of which were Vintondale residents. Brad Clemson, spokeman for Congressman Murtha, Representative Sara Steelman, and Senator John Wozniak all in attendance addressed the audience about the importance of AMD cleanup and the unique model of the Vintondale park. Other speakers included E. Jeanne Gleason, President, AMD&ART, Mike Palovich, Vintondale Borough Council, Jane Marines, President, Vintondale Municipal Authority, Dave Hamilton, Office of Surface Mining, PA Clean Streams Coordinator.
