Wildlife
in Pennsylvania

Matthew Clark
Though
hunting can't really be called a "sport" until the squirrels start
packing heat, too, the Pennsylvania Game Commission does put together
one heck of a website. You could easily spend a week paging through
their Wildlife section, reading their detailed notes on many Pennsylvanian
critters and instructive guides to wild bird feeding, before you became
restless enough to realize that that is just a part of the gargantuan
site! From the main index there is a county map section, where you
can learn about all of the exciting GC events in your own neck of
Penn's Woods, from bowhunter education classes to driving directions
to your local Commissioner's office (just tell 'em GreenWorks sent
ya). The Newsroom is updated on a rather weekly basis, and there is
definitely something neat in reading about animals in your own state
as opposed to the just usual African elephants and three-toed sloth's
so prevalent in the national media. And yes, they do have a gift shop.
